Smoke Alarm Request Print this page Free Smoke Detector Request Form The majority of fire deaths that occur in residential occupancies are caused by smoke inhalation, so it's important that citizens have the early warning a smoke detector can provide. The Granby Center Fire Department encourages all citizens to install and maintain approved smoke detection devices on each floor level of their residence. The Granby Center Fire Department offers a smoke detector program that is designed to install smoke detection devices in the homes of citizens in the 1st Fire District of the Granby Center Fire Department who do not currently have one. If you live in th 1st Fire District of the Granby Center Fire Department and do not have a smoke detector you are eligible to receive a free one. After your initial request, you will be contacted to arrange a time to install the smoke detector. To request a free smoke detector installation, please complete the form below or contact the Granby Center Fire Department at 315-598-7187 Note: If you rent, your landlord is legally responsible for supplying working smoke alarm(s).
